Mortgage professionals from across
Maryland gathered together in Baltimore
on April 8 to take part in the Maryland
Association of Mortgage Professionals
(MAMP) "Its A New Game,"
2010 Convention and Exposition.
From
participating in dynamic required
NMLS continuing education courses
to visiting with exhibitors and
learning new sales ideas from mortgage
industry guru Barry Habib, those
in attendance enjoyed working together
in planning ways to continue to
grow in the new market conditions
facing all mortgage professionals.
Of
particular importance to the owners
and managers who were in attendance
was a special lunch hosted by MAMP
where attendees were encouraged
to offer suggestions for how industry
professionals could work closer
together in the future to make sure
that their voices were being heard
by politicians in Annapolis and
on Capitol Hill. Seventy five professionals
gathered to discuss how they could
efficiently and effectively work
together to become a more unified
organization and industry. Many
individuals who had never been a
member of MAMP opted to join and
pledged to work to get other bankers,
brokers, loan originators and lender
account executives into membership.
Included
in the NMLS education programs were
three hours of Federal Law as presented
by Marjorie A. Corwin of Gordon
Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger &
Hollander, LLC and a one-hour Maryland
Law update as presented by Steve
Lovejoy of Shumaker & Williams.
