Charles DiPino, Jr. to Head MAMP

BALTIMORE - Charles DiPino, Jr. of Universal Trust Mortgage in Columbia was elected and installed as the new volunteer president of the Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers (MAMP) during ceremonies at the Center Club in Baltimore last night. He succeeds Larry Pendleton, CRMS of Legend Mortgage Corp. in Olney as the leader of the 1,300-member non-profit professional organization.

DiPino was honored with the "Dedicated Service as Vice President and Legislative Chairman" award at the 2006 MAMP Convention held last March. He has been instrumental in the association's successful efforts to help protect Maryland home owners by establishing state licensing requirements for mortgage originators.

In addition to DiPino, Hunter Bloch of Annapolis First Mortgage, LLC in Hanover was elected and installed to serve as president-elect along with Eric Gates of Apex Home Loan, Inc. in Bethesda who will serve as the association's vice president.

Other officers elected were Brooks Bosley of Washington Mutual in Centreville who was elected as secretary and Joseph M. Brown, Jr., CRMS of Premier Equity Mortgage, LLC in Catonsville who was elected to a third term as MAMP's treasurer.

Elected to serve two-year terms on the association's board of directors were: Jim Clements of 1st Financial, Inc., Annapolis; Allan Gushue of Bi-Coastal Mortgage, Inc., Lutherville; Rudolph Smith of RS Mortgage Network, Baltimore; Rob Taylor of Universal Mortgage & Finance, Edgewater; and Matt Zaborsky of Norbeck Olney Rockville Mortgage, Rockville.

Continuing on the board are: Michael Parsons of Nationwide Home Mortgage; Jacki Channer of Gateway Mortgage Services; Charles Reid, III of VirtualBank Mortgage;

Bevon Stennett of Mortgage America Bankers, LLC; Timothy Gough, CBM of First Republic Mortgages; Christine Wagner of Aegis Wholesale; and Richard Muller of Northstar Mortgage.

Thomas C. Shaner, CAE and Jenny Smith of The Joseph E. Shaner Co. in Baltimore will continue as MAMP’s executive director and associate executive director, respectively.

The induction of officers took place on the first day of the 2007 MAMP Convention for which more than 1,000 mortgage professionals and affiliates were in attendance. MAMP leaders are already at work planning the 2008 MAMP Annual Convention and Exposition.
